Fix Credit Score Fast

There are any ways that you can take off bad debt from your credit history. Remember; it is not always easy to have entries removed from your credit history. You may have to try more than one of the following strategies:

o Expired Entry - Most of the facts on your credit report only remains on your report for 7 years. If there are negative files on your report that are older than 7 years, you can take off them from your credit history by contacting the reporting credit bureau and telling them that the file is more than 7 years old and needs to be deleted immediately.

o Disputed Item - If you find something on your report that is not correct, you can have it removed by contacting the credit bureau in writing. You do not need to write a book. Simply write a short letter that clearly states the suspect why you dispute the item. The credit bureau will then palpate the former creditor and ask them to verify the information. If the facts is verified, the negative entry will remain. This process can sometimes take a tiny more than 30 days. So, don't get discouraged. You should also not quit if the entry is not removed from your credit report. You have other alternatives.

o Verified Entry - If your creditor verifies the negative facts on your credit report, you can still take off it from your credit history. You see, creditors are not required to contribute documentation to the credit bureau to verify your debt, but they do have to contribute it to you. In order to get it, you will need to write your creditor and ask for an investigation. They will have 30 days to respond to the investigation. If they do not comply, they are in violation of the Fair credit Reporting Act, and you can sue them.

Your creditor must be able to contribute documentation to prove the validity of the debt. Sometimes this can work to your advantage, especially when dealing with debts that have been sold to other creditors. Many times the paper trail has been lost and the creditor will not be able to prove that you owe the debt. When this occurs, you can take off the facts from your credit history.
